サウンド・アーティストの大和田俊による作品展示を「美術手帖」が企画！ 美術手帖×VOLVO ART PROJECT 第2弾

サウンド・アーティストの大和田俊が、12月5日?17日、ボルボ スタジオ 青山にて《unearth》を展示した。

これまで大和田は代表的なシリーズ「unearth」を通して、石灰岩を酸で溶かし、その様子と音を拡声マイクを通して知覚することによって、自然世界に通底する長大な時間の流れを体感させてきた。

スウェーデン南東部のゴトランド島には多くの石灰岩が見られ、太古から蓄積された時間によって、幻想的な景観が形成されている。ボルボ スタジオ 青山では、スウェーデンを象徴する空間のなかで、大和田が提示する暴力的なまでの自然が、異物感を現前させた。

なお、本企画は「美術手帖」プロデュースによる、「美術手帖×VOLVO ART PROJECT」の第2弾として企画された。

12月5日には、オープニングアクトとして、大和田によるライブ・パフォーマンスを開催した。この日限りの特別な照明のなかで、洗練された音の洪水を展開。ボルボ スタジオ 青山に幻想空間を現出させた。

イベントには、大和田が出品した「不純物と免疫」展（トーキョーアーツアンドスペース本郷）の、タイアップチューンを岡田拓郎（ex.森は生きている）と共作した作曲家の網守将平と大和田によるデュオ「Cryogenic Rhythm Science」と、電子音楽作品やインスタレーションを発表している梅沢英樹の2組も出演した。

おおわだ・しゅん　1985年栃木県旧栗山村生まれ。2012年東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科先端芸術表現専攻修了。主な個展に「Paleo-Pacific」（2016年、トーキョーワンダーサイト本郷）、「unearth」（2015年、NTT InterCommunication Center）。グループ展として「不純物と免疫」（2017年、トーキョーアーツアンドスペース本郷）、「裏声で歌へ」（2017年、小山市立車屋美術館）、「Malformed Objects」（2017年、山本現代）、Sound Reasons Festival（2016年、1Shanti Road、インド）などに参加。

Cryogenic Rhythm Science 大和田俊と網守将平によるデュオ。電子楽器やコンピュータによる発音と、２人の人間による知覚と操作の可能性に関心を持ちながら活動を行っている。

うめざわ・ひでき　1986年群馬県生まれ、東京都在住。東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科在籍。国内外より電子音楽作品の発表やインスタレーションの制作、サウンド・パフォーマンスを行う。2017年度はルイジ・ルッソロ国際音楽コンクールやIna-GRM主催のBanc d’essaiに作品が選出、12月には台湾ツアーやフランソワ・バシェの音響彫刻を素材としたマルチ・チャンネル作品を発表。これまでの主な受賞歴にリュック・フェラーリ国際コンクール – プレスク・リヤン賞2015 第1位。主な展示企画に「0°C」(blanClass, 2016) など。

“art handbook” is planning the exhibition of works by the sound artist Shun Owada! Art handbook × Volvo ART PROJECT 2nd edition

This project was planned as the second part of “Art handbook × Volvo Art Project” produced by “art handbook”.

Sound artist Shun Owada on December 5? On the 17th, <> was exhibited in Volvo Studio Aoyama.

Until now, Owada has experienced the vast flow of time that passes through the natural world through his representative series “unearth” by melting limestone with acid and perceiving the state and sound through a loudspeaker microphone.

The island of Gotland in south-eastern Sweden is home to many limestone formations that have been accumulated since ancient times, creating fantastic landscapes. At Volvo Studio Aoyama, the violent nature presented by Owada in the space that symbolized Sweden brought a feeling of a foreign body to the front.

This project was produced by “art handbook” and was planned as the second part of “Art handbook × Volvo Art Project”.

■Profile
Owada Shun was born in 1985 in the former Kuriyama village, Tochigi Prefecture. 2012: Completed the Advanced Art Expression Program, Graduate School of Art, Tokyo University of the Arts. Major personal exhibitions were “Paleo-Pacific” (2016, Tokyo Wonder Site Hongo) and “unearth” (2015: NTT InterCommunication Center). Group exhibitions included “Impurities and Immunity” (2017, Tokyo Arts and Space Hongo), “To sing in a falsetto voice” (2017: Koyama City Kurumaya Museum of Art), “Malformed Objects” (2017: Yamamoto Gendai), and Sound Reasons Festival “Paleo-Pacific”.

Cryogenic Rhythm Science Duo by Shun Owada and Shohei Amimori. They work with an interest in electronic musical instruments and computer pronunciation, as well as the possibility of perception and manipulation by two people.

Umezawa and Hie: Born in Gunma Prefecture in 1986, resident of Tokyo. He is enrolled in the Graduate School of Art, Tokyo University of the Arts. He will present electronic music works, create installations, and perform sound from home and abroad. In 2017, his works were selected for the Luigi Russo International Music Competition and the Banc d’essai Competition sponsored by the Ina-GRM. In December, he released multi-channel music pieces featuring sound sculptures by Francois Bachet and tours to Taiwan. He has been awarded 1st prize in the 2015 international Luc Ferrari competition. Major exhibition projects include “0 ° C” and (blanClass, 2016).
