写真家・田附勝の作品展示を「美術手帖」が企画！ 美術手帖×VOLVO ART PROJECT 第1弾

11月5日〜12日、写真家の田附勝が、ボルボ スタジオ 青山に作品を展示した。

スタジオ入口に構える3×9メートルの大型スクリーン（「AOYAMA SCREEN」）にて、東北の人・文化・自然を撮った写真集『kuragari』に掲載されている作品をスライドショーで上映。同写真集からの写真作品も、スタジオ内に展示した。田附にとって初となる、サウンドと同居した空間を演出することで、スウェーデンの自然をコンセプトにした店内に、東北という異文化を展開した。

また、11月11日には田附と、一橋大学で教育社会学を専門とする太田美幸によるトークイベント「スウェーデンの現代を構築するもの」を開催。?VOLVOやIKEAなど北欧のフィロソフィーが反映された企業や、穏やかな日常生活を紹介する書籍が人気を集め、独自の国民性が近年日本でも注目されているスウェーデンの文化は、どのように形成されてきたのか。東北の風土や文化を撮り続けてきた田附と、スウェーデンの近現代文化を研究する太田が、それぞれの見てきた文化のちがいを語った。

なお本企画は、ボルボ スタジオ 青山で継続的に行われる、「美術手帖」プロデュース企画「美術手帖×VOLVO ART PROJECT」の第1弾として実施された。

田附は、全国のVOLVO店舗で配布される2019年度版「VOLVO カレンダー」のための写真提供も決まっている。スウェーデンでどんな風景世界を撮影し、1年間のカレンダーを彩るのか。期待される。

田附勝｜Masaru Tatsuki

写真家。1974年富山県生まれ。1995年よりフリーランスとして活動を始める。2007年、デコトラとドライバーのポートレートを9年にわたり撮影した写真集『DECOTORA』（リトルモア）を刊行。2006年より東北地方に通い、東北の人・文化・自然と深く交わりながら撮影を続ける。2011年、写真集『東北』（リトルモア）を刊行、同作で第37回木村伊兵衛写真賞を受賞。写真集『その血はまだ赤いのか』（SLANT／2012年）、『KURAGARI』（SUPER BOOKS／2013年）、『「おわり。」』（SUPER BOOKS／2014年）、『魚人』（T＆M Projects／2015年）など。

Photographer Takekatsu’s work exhibition is planned by “art handbook”! Art handbook × Volvo ART PROJECT 1st series

This project was held as the first stage of “Art handbook × Volvo Art Project” produced by “art handbook”, which will be held continuously in Volvo Studio Aoyama.

From November 5 to 12th, photographer Tatsuki Masaru exhibited his work at Volvo Studio Aoyama.
At the entrance of the studio, on the large screen of 3×9 meters (“Aoyama SCREEN”), works from the photo book ‘kuragari’ which took pictures of people, culture and nature of Tohoku are shown in a slide show. Photographs from the book were also exhibited in the studio. For the first time for Tazuke, he created a space that was cohabited with the sound, and developed a different culture of Tohoku into a store based on the concept of the nature of Sweden.

Also, on November 11, a talk event “building block of Swedish modernity” was held between Tazuke and Miyuki Ota, who is specialized in educational sociology at Hitotsubashi University. How has Swedish culture been formed, with companies reflecting the philosophy of Northern Europe such as Volvo and Ikea, and books introducing peaceful daily life gaining popularity, and its unique national character attracting attention in Japan in recent years? Tazuke, who has taken pictures of the climate and culture of Tohoku, and Ota, who studies modern and contemporary Swedish culture, talked about the differences in the cultures they have seen.

Masaru Tatsuki
A photographer. Born in Toyama Prefecture in 1974. He started working as a freelancer in 1995. In 2007, he published ‘DECOTORA’ (Little More), a collection of photographs of decotra and driver portraits taken over nine years. Since 2006, he has been going to the Tohoku region and taking photographs while interacting deeply with the people, culture and nature of Tohoku. In 2011, he published a photo album titled ‘Tohoku’ (Little More), for which he won the 37 Ihei KIMURA Photo Prize. Photo collections ‘Is the blood still red?’ (SLANT/2012), ‘DECOTORA’ (SUPER BOOKS/2013), ‘”That’s it.”‘ (SUPER BOOKS/2014), ‘DECOTORA’ (Little More), etc.
