本山ゆかりがボルボ スタジオ 青山で展示。「TOKYO ARTRIP」とのコラボレーションも実現 美術手帖 × VOLVO ART PROJECT 第5弾

本山ゆかりによる展示企画「東京・占い・ジャーニー」を行います。本山は、主観や描かれる対象物の情報を削ぎ落とし、最低限の構成要素である「線」の在りかたを追うことで、絵画を制作するアーティストです。民主主義・資本主義の時代において美術史における文脈やコンテクストが強く作品に求められるなか、「描く」という行為自体に向き合い、存在としての絵画を問うてきました。

今回の展示において、本山は東京でフィールドワークを行いました。京都在住の本山にとって「非日常」である東京で感受したモノ・コトが、作品制作においてどのように作用するのか。作品に立ち現れるその在／不在を通して、作品とモチーフの関係性や、自身のなかの東京について、再考することを鑑賞者に促す展示になりました。

●関連企画として、東京のカルチャースポットを紹介する「TOK YOARTRIP」との協働によるフリーペーパー「CAR TRIP」を制作。本山がフィールドワークで訪れた場所を含む、青山周辺のスポットが掲載され、ボルボ スタジオ 青山や一部の掲載店舗で配布されました。

The exhibition of artist Motoyama Yukari “Tokyo Fortune-Telling Journey” will be held from June 29 to July 16. We also produced a free paper ‘TOKYO ARTRIP by VOLVO’ in collaboration with the visual guidebook “TOKYO ARTRIP”.

The exhibition “Tokyo Fortune-Telling Journey” by Yukari Motoyama will be held. Motoyama is an artist who creates paintings by stripping away information on subjects and objects to be drawn, and tracing the existence of “lines,” which are the minimum components. In the age of democracy and capitalism, the context and context of art history are strongly demanded of works, and we have faced the act of “draw” itself and asked about paintings as existence.

In this exhibition, Motoyama did fieldwork in Tokyo. How do the things and things that the head temple, who lives in Kyoto, felt in Tokyo, the “unusual” work in the creation of his works? Through the presence and absence of the works, the exhibition encouraged viewers to reconsider the relationship between the works and the motifs, and Tokyo in themselves.

He was born in Aichi Prefecture in 1992. Completed the master’s course in art at Kyoto City University of Arts.
